Share Your Home

Emerging from a need to serve transitional aged youth leaving the Children's Aid Society system, the Share Your Home program provides an alternative to traditional support services.

Beyond sharing a home, the Share Your Home program allows the individuals we support to share a life. As role model, mentor, support worker, roommate and friend, those who choose to share their home become examples to individuals who aspire to one day live on their own.

  • Providers are friends—they are not parental figures
  • Providers receive rent as well as a per diem rate for the work they do with the individual
  • Providers can be a single person, family or couple provided they have the right motivation and provide an appropriate environment
  • The process of becoming a provider involves a background check, criminal reference check and home inspection
