Community Participation
Submitted by Bethany VanArnhem, Coordinator of Community Participation

Part of Alice Saddy Association’s mission is that we actively facilitate connections between people and community members by recognizing and fostering relationships.

One way we do this is through our new Meet up Groups in the community. A great way for anyone to meet new people and form new relationships is to start going to the same place on a regular basis, and the same should be applied when we are supporting someone,  whether it’s participation in a club, volunteer position or just meeting up with friends for a meal where non-paid community members are welcome to attend.  Community members will get to know the individual,  their gifts and talents and likes and dislikes.  Meeting new people can open up the possibility for new relationships or potential job  and volunteer opportunities.
